Testing Standards

As a leader in the field of physical security and as a manufacturer that prides itself on quality, Surelock McGill adheres to a wide host of testing standards. Many of these tests are performed by or audited via a third party, ensuring that our products have a genuine stamp of approval.

Some of the below standards will have been tested to a complete doorset or gate, and therefore we cannot state that individual locking systems are guaranteed meet these standards, only that the systems had successfully passed testing on certain specified doorsets and gates. These standards will be marked with an asterisk(*).

Quality:

Ballistic:

• EN 1522 / EN 1523 FB4 to FB7 + FSG – European ballistic test standard*

Fire:

• EN 1634-1 up to 4 hours - European fire test*
• BS 476-22 up to 4 hours - UK fire test*

Emergency escape:

• EN 179 – European test for emergency escape hardware (lever handle and push pads)
• CE marked – European requirement for exit hardware
• UKCA Marked - UK Requirement for exit hardware

Panic escape:

• EN 1125 – European test for panic escape hardware (panic bars)
• UL305 – US test for panic escape hardware (panic bars)
• CE marked – Change wording to - European requirement for exit hardware
• UKCA Marked - UK Requirement for exit hardware

Blast:

• ISO 16933 test method (100kg TNT at 15m on standard systems) – Arena blast test*
• EN 13123-2/EN13124-2 – Arena blast test* CPNI Protected Spaces C15 – UK Government arena blast test*

Hinges:

• EN 1935 Grade 14 – European standard for strength and durability of hinges

Corrosion:

• EN 1670 up to Grade 5 (480 hours) – Salt spray corrosion test

Anti-ligature:

• TS001 – UK anti-ligature hardware test standard

Airflow:

• Louvre airflow tests

Shock and Vibration
