Why Replace A Locking System

  • Need to install emergency or panic escape hardware to comply with regulations.
  • Lock damaged over time due to usage or attack.
  • Security requirement heightened.
  • Changing the function of a door to meet new performance requirements such as enabling access control or bolt and lock status monitoring.
  • Improving accessibility with motorised locking which can provide door automation when paired with a power-assisted door operator.

Once you factor in transport, installation, decoration, and disposal, replacing a doorset can be costly and time consuming to all involved. For the end user the process of installation can be a annoyance, or at worst a significant security risk with door fittings taking a full days work.

Surelock Mcgill have developed a straightforward system that allows any engineer to replace a multi-point or single-point locking system, in as little as 60 minutes.

How It Works

Through-bolt kits for Surelock McGill systems such as The Stirling and The Slimline enable the device to be fixed onto the surface of a door leaf, by bolting directly through the leaf into a plate on the opposite side. This serves two purposes:

  1. Secures all parts of the system onto the door safely.
  2. Covers up old fixing footprints from previous lock cases and installations.
The result is a straightforward fixing system that allows any installer to fit a Stirling or Slimline onto an existing doorset with minimal hassle, and maximum confidence that their lock will leave the end user satisfied.
