Cylinder Guard LPS 1175 Issue 8 Testing

Earlier this year, Surelock McGill worked with long-time customer Bastion to develop a cylinder guard able to withstand  LPS 1175 Issue 8 Toolkit G testing to a G5 security rating.

Whilst Toolkit G is a high security rating level that uses powerful tools such as 54v circular saws, 54v disc grinders, hooligan bars and more, we were more than prepared for the challenge.

Our new cylinder guards fitted to a high-security Bastion door achieved a rating of G5 under the new LPS 1175 Issue 8 standards. This means that it withstood five or more uninterrupted minutes of attack from power tools and hooligan bars.

Previously, a door needed to be fitted with two large cylinder guards to achieve this level of security rating. This not only impacted the design of the door but increased its weight and cost.

Our latest development allows door manufacturers to reach this high security standard level with only minimal modifications to the design and function of their doors.

The streamlined guard design uses the same installation footprint as our lower rated cylinder guards, enabling easy upgrading and increased flexibility whilst also testing to LPS 1175 Issue 8 G5 specifications.
