About LPS 1673 and Surelock McGill

The LPCB launched the LPS 1673 security standard to ensure that security solutions protecting high-risk individuals and their assets can resist and delay forced entry attempts.

This accreditation was developed in partnership with the National Protective Security Authority (NPSA), the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO), and the US Bureau of Diplomatic Security. LPS 1673 ensures that security solutions offer reliable defences against violent attackers using brute force and bladed and blunt weapons, while maintaining a discreet aesthetic to fit within domestic and office environments.

As a leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance locking systems, Surelock McGill understands the need for robust solutions in this market. Given this, testing and certifying our products for the LPS 1673 standard is a priority.

Our LPS 1673-certified locking solutions

The mortice-fitted Tyne and the Mortice Slimline provide robust and reliable protection against fast-moving, violent attacks. Both locking systems meet key LPS 1673 resistance levels when installed as part of a complete doorset. The discreet mortice design keeps the locks concealed within the door leaf, ensuring that they are unobtrusive and do not draw unnecessary attention. Further aesthetic enhancements on offer include painted brass, bronze, and black finishes

Tyne

Tyne

The Tyne is a high-performance, single-point mortice locking system suitable for a wide range of applications in timber and steel doorsets. With an extra-deep backset, the Tyne is also a suitable solution for acoustic doors, where a seal may be required.

Slimline Mortice

Mortice Slimline

The Mortice Slimline can be installed inside most hollow metal and solid timber doors. This mounting method offers the security of a multi-point locking system while concealing the lock's components and fixings.

Expert site surveys and installation

Our UK government security-cleared surveyors can visit your site to carry out a complete assessment. This includes:

  • Accurate measurements for manufacturing and installation
  • Evaluation of access routes and structural considerations
  • Coordination of any additional structural or engineering surveys, if needed

This detailed survey process ensures we can deliver precise, fixed-cost quotations, minimising surprises and maximising efficiency.

For those seeking a complete, worry-free service, we offer fully vetted installation teams. Our recommended supplier for installations is 247 National. The company's UK government security-cleared personnel will complete all projects with the utmost discretion and precision.

We also provide clear guidance and technical backup for clients who prefer to use their own installation teams.
