The LPCB has recently launched its latest standard, LPS 1673. LPS 1673 measures physical security solutions’ resistance against fast-moving, violent incidents and requires their design to blend into existing residential and commercial environments.

We have tested and certified two of Surelock McGill’s mortice locking systems, the Slimline Mortice and the Tyne, to this new specification. These solutions provide discreet security to protect high-value locations and individuals from violent, fast-moving incidents. Compared to the standard industrial designs, their strength remains concealed within the door leaf. The painted brass, bronze or black finishes match any residential or commercial environment. We attended the International Security Expo once again! Our latest launch, the Aldgate, was the highlight of the stand, but we were glad to see interest in all our locking solutions and physical security products displayed. What’s more, attendees of the conference got to see BRE put the Slimline through live forced entry tests at the LPCB Live Testing Lab.

Product Highlight From 2024

Speaking of our latest product, the Aldgate, we launched our newest single-point gate lock that is almost twice as large as commercially available hook locks. Its oversized design and heavy-duty hook bolt are strong enough to resist 10 tonnes (100 kN) of pulling force. The adjustable roller restraint, auto-securing function, access control, and monitoring functionalities further enhance the locking system’s performance. Find out how the Aldgate can secure your sliding or hinged doors and gates below:

Two of our 2024 releases, the Eden and the Trent, were shortlisted for the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers Specification Awards 2024! Although our products did not win in their category, having not one but two of our solutions recognised and nominated by the Guild has been a massive achievement for us. We had a great time at the ceremony and want to congratulate all the winners. Explore both products below:

We kicked off our Securing Your Sector series on LinkedIn earlier this year, and while our Gas sector and Data Centre sector posts are already live, those are just the tip of the iceberg! This series helps you pinpoint the best solution for your security needs, regardless of your industry. We are continuing this series in 2025, covering sectors including Healthcare, Government and Water. Follow our LinkedIn page to see the latest instalments as soon as they come out!

Coming Soon…

2025 might already be busy with events and upping our social media presence, but our focus on innovation and research & development will always take priority. Next year, we are adding a new product to our gate locking range: the Palisade Pedestrian. This new addition is more compact than the Palisade Vehicular, with a smaller sliding bar to suit commercial environments.
