When looking at a door that requires a ballistic rating it’s not only the door and locking mechanism that needs to be reviewed, if there is a need for viewing through a security door, perhaps to validate who is requesting entry. Then you will need to consider a Ballistic rated vision panel. The Surelock McGill Group supply these in three standard sizes that meet both the Disability Act criteria and they have been successfully tested to (EN1634) Ballistic rating FB2 – FB6.
Door Viewers:
The challenge of knowing how is trying to enter a ballistic rated security door can easily be overcome, whilst maintaining the privacy within the room. The Ballistic viewer is available offering 180° vision and tested to BS EN1522 FB7 rating.
