Exit Standards:
Panic and emergency exit devices intended for use on escape route doors are covered under the Construction Products Directive within Europe. These 'harmonised' standards require third party notified bodies to review, test and certify such products submitted by the manufacturer for CE marking to the recognised standard. The Surelock McGill Group have successfully tested Panic and Emergency solutions to BSEN1125 (panic) and BSEN179 (Emergency) for both single and double door applications.
Panic Exit:
With the high level of legislation covering exit routes, it’s essential to choose the right product with the correct certification. The Surelock McGill Group BSEN 1125 approved products also meet the need for the higher levels of security, whilst maintaining the life-safety panic exit. The Surelock McGill Group offer a full range of devices, both single- and multi-point providing the widest possible range of operations. This includes; exit only, key, remote, or combination lock release, whilst maintaining a full width panic bar/plate exit. These devices can meet both single and double doors to BSEN 1125 and CE marked.

Time Delayed Exit:
There has been a trend of attacks using escape doors to ‘Grab & Run-Out’ with high value goods. The Surelock McGill Group provide an emergency exit to combat this that offers a pre-set delay prior to releasing. This controls exit from the building through escape doors to a thief, reverting back to its panic, or emergency exit status in the case of fire alarm activation.
